About This Show
A Remarkable Place to Die is a New Zealand-Australian crime drama in which Detective Anaís Mallory leaves her career with the Sydney police and returns to her hometown of Queenstown on New Zealand’s South Island to become its lead detective. Her first case involves Skippers Canyon, South American backpackers, an upmarket restaurant and a wealthy antique dealer. Behind each case is a longer, more personal story: the death of her sister and a difficult relationship with her mother, Veronica, played by Rebecca Gibney. Mallory has come home with her own agenda, determined to find out what really happened to her father and sister.
